MFG Edge AI LLC ("MFG Edge AI," "we," "our," or "us") operates the MFG Edge AI mobile application and web platform (app.mfgedge.ai). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your information when you use our services.
Information We Collect
We collect the following types of information to provide and improve our AI chief of staff platform:
Account Information: Your name, email address, company name, and login credentials when you create an account.
Chat & Conversation Data: Messages, questions, and instructions you send to your AI assistant, along with the AI's responses. This data is stored per-client and is never shared with other clients.
Location Data: With your explicit permission, we collect precise GPS location data, including in the background when the app is not in active use. This data is used exclusively for automatic mileage tracking — detecting when you start and stop driving, logging trip routes, calculating distances, and generating mileage reports for business tax deductions. You can disable location tracking at any time through your device settings.
Photos & Camera: With your permission, you can take or select photos to send to your AI assistant for analysis — such as photos of parts, receipts, defects, documents, or job site conditions. Photos are processed for the specific request and stored in your conversation history.
Microphone: With your permission, the app may access your microphone for voice commands and hands-free activation features. Audio is processed for speech recognition only and is not stored or recorded.
Connected Business Systems: If you choose to connect third-party services (such as Zoho CRM, Google Calendar, email, or other business tools), we access data from those services on your behalf to provide AI-powered insights and actions. We only access what is necessary and authorized by you.
Device & Usage Information: Device type, operating system, app version, and general usage patterns to improve performance and diagnose issues.
How We Use Your Information
- Provide AI Services: Process your messages, queries, and data to deliver personalized AI assistant responses through our platform.
- Mileage Tracking: Automatically detect and log business trips, calculate distances, classify trips as business or personal, and generate IRS-compliant mileage reports.
- Photo Analysis: Analyze images you send for quality inspection, receipt processing, document review, or other business purposes you request.
- System Integration: Connect with your authorized business tools to provide calendar management, CRM access, email monitoring, and other integrated features.
- Improve Our Service: Analyze anonymized usage patterns to improve platform performance, reliability, and features.
Data Storage & Security
Your data is stored on secure, US-based cloud infrastructure. We implement industry-standard security measures including:
- TLS 1.3 encryption for all data in transit
- Per-client data isolation — your data is completely separated from other clients
- Token-based authentication with automatic session management
- Encrypted credential storage for all connected third-party services
Trip and location data is stored locally on your device first, then synced to your secure server-side account when an internet connection is available. You maintain full control over your trip data and can export or delete it at any time.
Data Sharing
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for advertising or marketing purposes. Your data may be shared only in the following limited circumstances:
- AI Processing: Your messages are processed by Anthropic's Claude AI model to generate responses. Anthropic does not use your data to train their AI models.
- Connected Services: Data is exchanged with third-party services you explicitly authorize (e.g., Zoho, Google Workspace) to provide integrated features.
- Legal Requirements: If required by law, court order, or governmental authority.
Your Rights & Controls
- Location Tracking: You can disable background location access at any time through your device's Settings. Disabling location will stop automatic mileage tracking but will not affect other app features.
- Camera & Microphone: You can revoke camera and microphone permissions through your device's Settings at any time.
- Trip Data: You can view, export (CSV or PDF), and delete your trip and mileage data from within the app.
- Conversation History: You can request deletion of your conversation history by contacting us.
- Account Deletion: You can request complete deletion of your account and all associated data by contacting us at hello@mfgedge.ai.
Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Conversation data, trip data, and connected system data are maintained to provide continuity of service. If you delete your account, all associated data is permanently removed within 30 days.
Children's Privacy
MFG Edge AI is a business-to-business platform designed for manufacturing and trade professionals. We do not knowingly collect information from individuals under the age of 18. If you believe a minor has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
